Description

This is a pair of LC2 Petit Modele Lounge Chairs, originally designed in 1928 by Le Corbusier and his collaborators, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand. These examples were produced in Italy in the 1970s by Cassina. They are comprised of a steel frame and have cushions upholstered in an orange fabric. This silhouette is widely considered to be the ultimate triumph in Bauhaus ingenuity, evident in its tubular chromed-steel construction. The aforementioned designers referred to these pieces as “household equipment”, a rather amusing way to look at furniture. The listed price includes both chairs to be sold together as a pair.

Each chair measures 27.6 inches deep, 29.9 inches wide, and 26.4 inches high with a seat height of 18.9 inches. These pieces do show some wear consistent with previous use, but overall are in very good vintage condition. Please see photos.
