Description

This is a very rare, early ‘RAR’ Rocking Chair, initially designed by Ray and Charles Eames in 1950. This particular chair dates to around 1951, as determined by the early Zenith label that is intact. The design features a fiberglass shell seat in lemon yellow with a desirable rope edge, and it has steel legs & walnut runners. The parts are all original, including the enlarged shock mounts. This chair came from an estate in Massachusetts, and was purchased from the original owners.

This rocking chair measures 28 inches long, 25 inches wide, and is 28 inches high. There is a beautiful patina on its fiberglass shell, with small scratches and dings present. The metal base shows a bit of patina. The runners show some water stains and some slight dings, but they look great. Overall, this chair is in very good vintage condition. Please see photos.
